Are your teachers qualified? Yes, all our tutors are fully certified BC elementary/high school teachers. Many have other qualifications as well such as TESL & Master's degrees.How are teachers checked for references/records? After teachers register with us, we check with the BC College of Teachers to ensure their certification is current and in good standing. This confirms that they are BC certified and that they have a clean police record. After this, we contact their teaching references. I've just signed up online, what happens next? You will receive an email to confirm your tutor and to schedule your first lesson. Where do lessons take place? Usually, lessons will take place at your home, however, it is also possible to request lessons at a public location, such as a local library. What happens at the first lesson? They will ask to see the student's most recent school report & depending on the student's needs will perform an assessment. What is taught at the lessons? This depends on the needs of the student. This can include homework help, test preparation and lesson materials provided by us. What are the benefits of individual home tutoring? Firstly, home tutoring is more convenient as you don't have to travel anywhere and it can be arranged around your schedule. Secondly, individual tutoring allows the tutor to completely focus on the student and their exact needs. This creates better results faster. How much does the tutoring cost? You can pay online through our secure check out system or by cash/cheque in person/by mail. When do I pay? You pay at the end of the month for each month's lessons.
